2 [Admin]
An Admin has many jobs, These people are the Owners right hand ensuring the stability of the server,
starting it when it goes down, backing up files and watching out for memory leaks. They are also responsible for
resolving staff disputes, ensuring staff do their jobs properly, Patroling the server for hackers and cheaters and
building projects as well. Admin has OP which is a person designated by the original administrator or other ops to patrol the server on their behalf. They basically are a co-owner at some purposes. Take this responsibility seriously!
Administrators have all of the commands available to ops and also the advantage of the tools available from the server software. Admins have control over the selection and implementation of the map, and can choose the settings for the room, such as maximum number of players, players allowed from the same IP address, and the name and MOTD of the room. The admin can also "ghost" the room; chatting via the console, without even being logged into the server or follow players while invisible. If admins abuse their powers they may be removed by the owner or fellow admins. OPs often have spawning abilities and use of plugin commands, but they may also hold the same responsibilities as Moderators.
2 [Moderator]
Mods help maintain and optimize the playing experience on the server and are resposible for
providing a type of 'law enforcement' to the server by resolving player disputes or giving warnings to players who break the rules and kicking or banning when needed or even just jailing them for a time out. OPs often have spawning abilities and use of plugin commands, but they may also hold the same responsibilities as Moderators.
4 [Assistant]
The Assistant is resposible for greeting the new players and making them feel welcome by answering as many questions as they can or refering them to another person that can help weather it be other staff or other players. Also insuring that the players understand and follow the rules. If they see a bigger problem, they must report it to the Mod, Admins or Owner.
2 [Builder]
The job of the builder is strickly that. This person really has no authority other than reporting any problems that they encounter to the other staff members. They are major players by maintaining all of the major builds on the server. They have creative mode for building only. If they abuse this by giving players items, they will be removed from that possition.
APPLYING FOR STAFF
1. Become a member on the forums and look at the other applications to get an idea of what information you will need to provide and then post an application of your own. If you are chosen, you will not get Admin or Mod right away, you will get an Assistant position first and move up through the ranks as needed after you prove that you can be an effective staff member. Proving that you can be trusted is important!
2. Introduce yourself on the server. Don't go right in with asking for Moderator/OP rank.(this may get you banned) Gradually tell the players and owner (if there) who you are.
3. Make a good example of yourself. Be the first to provide help to players in need and conform to the rules.
Be nice, don't curse a lot, and help newcomers enjoy the server.
4. Ask the owner or existing moderators if the server could use some more.
This will get you an answer of whether or not you should keep trying, and tell the owner/mods that you are
interested in becoming one.
5. If no moderators/OPs are needed, keep playing anyway. Continue to provide help and tips to newcomers, as well as being nice. Don't just rage-quit the server because you aren't a mod/OP right away. DO NOT keep asking and asking if they need more every day, be calm, on this forum, keep an eye out for announcements for an opening.
6. Remember to always be polite and understanding. Being a staff member on a server does not mean you can abuse your power, it means you have been assigned to help out the players and help the community. If you do not get promoted, keep trying and improving your knowledge on the server and when you are experienced, try again.
